Deluxe Pack ex’s release late next month is set to serve as a grand celebration of Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s first anniversary. The set includes tons of reprints of some of the game’s most popular cards, with each four-card pack featuring one card of at least “four-diamond rarity” or better. Deluxe Pack ex will also feature new artwork for a wide variety of older TCG Pocket cards, as well as stunning new “parallel foil” versions of older cards. Pokemon TCG Pocket is now giving fans some more information about the mobile game’s upcoming reprints.
A new update from the official Japanese Twitter account for Pokemon TCG Pocket reveals an important note about Deluxe Pack ex. According to the post, the new reprints of cards featured in Deluxe Pack ex will only be counted towards the Dex completion for the set itself, despite being reprints of older cards in the game. The information suggests that, despite being newer versions of pre-existing cards, Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s “Deluxe Pack ex” cards will not count towards completion of the cards’ original sets. Deluxe Pack ex is currently expected to launch on October 29.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Shares New Information About Deluxe Pack ex
The decision to not make Deluxe Pack ex cards count towards the cards’ original sets has been met with plenty of backlash from fans. The replies to the post are filled with upset fans voicing their discontent with the decision, particularly over fans trying to collect the digital cards. Some fans cite the fact that many of the cards in the set are reprints with the same abilities and stats, which will act as the large majority of the cards available from the set. Fans also asked for a way to distinguish Deluxe Pack ex cards from their older versions, particularly for trading and collection.
Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s newest set will serve as a celebration of a wildly successful first year for the mobile trading card game. Pokemon TCG Pocket needed less than half a year to surpass 100 million downloads, after reaching 30 million players within two weeks of the game’s release. Pokemon TCG Pocket has similarly been a cash cow for the developer, with the card game earning more than $400 million within just two months. Pokemon TCG Pocket will look to carry its early momentum into the game’s second year.
